In collaboration with anorak, artist and filmmaker Cammisa Buerhaus will present If You Please, the second iteration of a screening series of artist made short films between the genres of erotica, horror, and dark comedy. The series began as a meditation about what happens when desire is repressed. Desire can be borne on one breath. It can die in the silence between sentences. Maybe it only lives in the mind, or in the memory.
Films by Felix Bernstein & Gabe Rubin, Friedl vom Gröller, Peter Oehl & Markus Ludwig, Cammisa Buerhaus & Nicola T. Madison, and He Xiaopei will be shown, along with a staging of Derek McCormack’s play The Well-Dressed Wound, performed by Daria Bertram, Arthur Chruszcz, Bully Fae Collins, Deniz Ilhan, Luca Lang, Tess Sahara, Leslie Salazar, Clara Sartor, and Greta v. Drygalski.
The night continues with a DJ set of music that Buerhaus released on her NYC-based imprint, Wild Flesh Productions. Wild Flesh Productions releases music made by non-musicians – painters, social workers, writers, housewives. The set will be accompanied by a zine expanding on the musical and cultural impetus behind the label.
